Receiving emails

Sorry, not sure which section to post this. I am getting a lot of emails saying that I I won the email lottery or am entitled compensation. To send a reply. Can anyone explain what this is all about. What do this people expect to get from a reply? I spam a lot of the emails but am still receiving a lot.

If you reply they know the email address is active. Then they can sell your email address to other companies, or target you for even more spam.

Never reply to these emails. Mark them as junk and delete them.
