In fact, it is often in attempting to exploit their natural advantages that they destroy all hope of elegance. So called 'sexy' styles are never truly elegant, but only suitable for the vamps of ganster films or comic strips.
A kind of mythology seems to have been built up concerning mens preferences in fashion, with the result that many a young woman who deliberately dresses to attract masculine admiration often inspires only astonishment. To separate once and for all the fact from fiction, this is:
What is really attractive to men:
- full skirts, tiny waists, and a long-legged look
- clothes that are in fashion, but not avant-garde;
Men follow fashion trends more than you realise.
- furs, and a general air of luxury
- almost any shade of blue; white; very pale and very dark grey; certain men hate to see their wives in black; others adore it
- perfume - but modern men appareciate lighter perfumes than their fathers did, subtle sophisticated blends rather than simpler scents.
What men think they like:
(but only in the cinema)
- revealing tight skirts and aggressively pointed bosoms
- false eyelashes
- 'femme fatale' lingerie
- musky oriental scents
- spike heels
- yards of black fringe and miles of chiffon flounces
In short, men enjoy being envied, but they hate feeling conspicuous. And they particularly dislike vulgarity in the woman they love."
Although a bit of a 50's outlook. I still think this stands true. What do you think? Do the men really want the fantasy of spike heels? Men?

I think in this liberated day and age, anything goes. I mean there seems to be a fetish for anything you can think of! Personally, not much there that does it for me, even if it separates "once and for all the fact from the fiction"!
Mind you if I was around in the 50s it probably would have been very true for me! How times change!!

While I agree with what you are saying Leg-end.. I don't think you can say that women are soley to blame! Yes the women of today are less... Lady like than the women of 50 years ago but if the men could keep it in their trousers too then perhaps we wouldn't have a problem. It does after all take two to tango.
While women may be dropping their knickers, men are dropping their standard and their pants! It seems though that men can shag who they want and not get a bad name but the women they are sleeping with are getting called all sorts.
