Has anyone been to a spiritualist of medium to contact a loved one? If so, have they worked.?

How can any sensible person possibly begin to believe that we can get messages from deceased persons.

Sorry Jules you are a kind sincere person but spirits waiting years before ready to come through. Where on earth did that come from,what are they waiting for, the mind truly boggles.

my mum isnt a medium, she is a qualified healer but there are mediums at her church.

As far as going to a spiritualist church goes, there are many different services they can offer you. You can go and just talk about your mum and your grief, you might find that helps or there are other things they do there. Check out your local spiritualist church and just go along. They wecome everyone!

Doc that is what makes the world a special place - we all have different beliefs. I think it would be horrible if we all believed that was it once we died.
It gives me comfort that one day i might get to see everyone again and that if i died then one day i might catch up with the kids again. It makes it easier for me to cope with the fact that one day i will have to leave them.
Obviously NONE of us know cos we are still all here.

I would have never gone to a spiritual meeting on my own, but one day my mate asked me along to a spiritual fair which to me is where you buy tarot, cards, healing stones, candles etc, so I said yer ok. I ended up meditating singing Daniel O�Donell songs and then they bought the medium forward. I was trying to hold in my laughing when the medium came to me. My mate said my face was classic. So spock its not all about money as I said true mediums will not use their powers as any gain.

doc you have no right to say that any person who believes a deceased person is still there in some form or another just to help them through is not sensible. You dont agree with them thst fine, but dont say people that do are wrong either.

I have been to good ones and bad ones!!! The best one I have been to didn't charge for her services but had a donation box for charity and she came up with things that no other psychic had ever said. But don,t take everything as written in stone.

Doc that came from me having slightly more knowledge about spiritualism than you!
It takes time for the spirit to settle in the spirit world! Im no expert but i do know a little from talking to my Mum.

I do get annoyed when people are so quick to put down something just because they dont believe in it! Who says you're right???? Prove it doesnt exist! You cant ! Its just what you believe. I believe it does!

If a spiritualist helps someone who has suffered a loss, then that can only be a good thing.

Some people believe the earth to be flat.
Why cannot people be content with their allotted span, 4 score and ten and all that.
After having a happy life why would anybody want it to continue forever. Is Julius Ceasar permanently in conversation with Brutus trying to patch things up.
I am all for grieving but I can't kid myself that I will ever see my parents again.

Spiritualist church is the same as normal church, you say the lords prayer (and sing sometimes), you have time to gather you thoughts etc. Then a medium will get up tell you who they are and then go to someone, they will give you a message - sometimes they are direct sometimes they talk about things around you, it all depends on the medium. They will not tell you anything horrible. Most of the time when you really want to know about something you will not and then when you are least expeting it you may get the message you want.
Either way church is a quiet peacefull place that will give you time to reflect and you will get comfot out of the other people there.

This is just one of the many societies out there that are offering substantial rewards to any psychic/clairvoyant/medium who can prove themselves under test conditions. In this case it's $1 million dollars.

Sorry Juli but I got it from my mum just doesnt wash. I got from my mum,father christmas, the tooth fairy etc.
You dont have to prove things dont exist, it only works the other way round. In other words, show me.
No one can prove that little green men from mars are NOT living amongst us and are invisible.

A different argument but the world would be a better place without religion.

i honestly cant see the point of you coming on a thread started by muchlove who seeks some form of comfort after the recent loss of her mum, just to ridicule the beliefs of others!

I have been to the spiriutalist church quite a few times myself and i do learn stuff from my Mum, i cant see why that is beyond your understanding. We all learn from what others tell us, do we not????? !

I will continue this no further Doc! i came on here to try and offer muchlovex some advice on a subject that I do know a little bit of something about! I dont have to defend why or how i camre to have these beliefs. She asked, i answered!

True blue the spiritual group I go to will not say lords prayer, they say that they don�t practice any religion. And as I said spock yes you don�t have to believe but no-one can say who is right or wrong. and some people do believe in little green men too.

My mum used to read me all sorts of fairy tales as a youngster, I did not grow up believing them.

My Dad died in 1982 my mum 1986, are they ready to "come through" yet.
I enjoyed them when they were alive and appropriately grieved at the time of their deaths.

I believe that some beliefs deserve to be ridiculed.
