Following on from my posy yesterday about my mate getting flowers, she came round my flat lastnight screaming 'we've got progress' waving a letter in her hand that had been left on her car. It said:

Hi there I hope you like the flowers I sent you. I do like you and I hope that you will like me when I tell you who I am.

You have got a smile that lights me up and your eyes shine like the stars in the night sky. From ?

P.S You can text me if you like on *********** but if you ring I wont answer until we have text for a little while ok.

Well she asked if I�d text from my spare phone so he didn�t get her number and I sent a hello who is this. He then asked �Did you like the flowers� When I asked if I knew him he put yer we speak, then I asked if he lives near me. He said no but I live near where you work. So I just put Hi *****

Yep it turned out to be a guy that watches her on her fag break and comes down from his flat just to walk past. He�s in his late 30�s living with his mum and been divorced twice. My mate was not impressed. And then he said �I�d like us to be boyfriend and girlfriend� how childish does that sound. I nicely replied with �I�ve just got out of a seriously relationship at moment� and he said me too we can just take things slow. So at the moment she is taking things slow and hasn�t replied.

it is a bit freaky. she's on hols for a week now thank god but when she gets back she's got to cut his hair.

What??? ok well, if thats the case then make sure she tells you the time she's going there, and how long she predicts she will be and if you don't get hold of her after a time you've both agreed then call the cops on his ass. Ok I maybe getting a little carried away. But just make sure she keeps in contact.

As for saying ' I�ve just got out of a seriously relationship at moment� no blokes ever believe that excuse as I know of lots of people who have been given that excuse only to find the girl in question has been off with someone else who has shown interest.

With modern society and stalking laws it's hard to make contact with people these days without being branded weird. LOL

oh no he will be going into hairdressers where she works, so plenty of people to keep an eye on her. She reckons its a sign that she needs to give up the fags because she definately wont be having as many now. and I've already had so much of a laugh with this already panic. He may be a lovely bloke but seen as he's a bit of a loner in town and turned up from no-where we think he's in some safe house

er its not an excuse cockney she has and even the boy she really likes who likes her she's said just that she needs time on her own right now. not all girls are like that

dont get me wrong flowers are lovely but whats point in anonymous ones if you want them to know how much you like them

Glad she doing it at the hairdressers. It sounds like she is going to keep her distance which is definately a good thing. Keep us posted

She�s been through a hard time lately and still is and was lovely to see her all excited when she got the flowers and didn�t know who it was, but now she�s cursing saying that she always gets the weirdos

Maybe his flat overlooks where she works and it's the only view he gets.

I'm kinda half and half with this one, yes it is weird but then its is also a guy that sees her a lot.

Although saying that if she did like him in the end and things didnl't work out he'd still see where she worked everyday.

when I have been outside with her he will come down from his flat and pretend to go to shops, walk around corner back into other side of his flat, he is strange

One thing that i dont get is that women (and men) cry out for this kind of romance all the time!! People always winge that romance is dead!! There was nothing vulgar in the note, it was quite sweet!! I do understand however that we do have to be extra careful these days with all the wierdo's about! Surely if this guy wanted to hurt her or had any wierd intentions he would have acted on it by now!! Sometimes we need to take risks in the name of romance...dont we????

Yes we do, I think its just freaked her out because its our town is one of those towns where everyones knows everyone, yet we don�t know him he�s a kind of recluse. Maybe if he�s have just sent the flowers saying it was from him then would have been less creepy. And the I�d like us to be girlfriend and boyfriend is a bit weird for a man in his late 30�s. maybe I�d like to take you out for a drink sounds less like he has a mind of a 12 year old.

I think she should just thank him for the flowers but politely say she is not interested in him. If she really is freaked out by it, she really needs to close down the possibility of any further advances. As kind and thoughtful as his gift was, he needs to be told that this is a no-hoper.
