My back is really painful
11 Answers
for a few weeks now i have had occasional back ache in the lumbar area and across the top of the pelvis but just this last few days it has never gone away other than for a brief space when the paracetamol work, I am convincing myself it is a result of the epidural i had 26 years ago , I remember the anaesthetist telling me that there was no way of telling what future side effects might be, i had been in labour for 8 houirs at the time and he could have told me george best was outside waiting to operate and i would have believed him! Has anyone else had an epidural and felt that since then they have had increasing back problems in the area the needle was inserted? i am in bl00dy agony and can't relax!

There s good news though, I had acupunture it was fantastic, i then did quite a lot of core support exercise. after 4 years of hell, i am now completely pain free. i don't go overboard. i do live a very active life and i can keep up with my 10 year old.
Good luck! don't give up you'll be ok! i'd be more scared of tennor lady than back pain! don't buy a trampoline, even though they're half price in argos.
LoL

Hiya Dot. I have never had an epidural but I do suffer back pain quite often. If I stand ironing or sit for long periods my back kills me. Also if I go on a long journey in the car I can hardly walk when I get out. I don't know the answer, perhaps its old age... hang on a minute I'm only in my 50s. You will have to join the back pain club, its the most dibilitating (sorry cant spell it) problem and thousand of hours are lost in work due to this problem.
jeeese pus your post that you have just said has made me feel so lucky as I have not realy had many back probs and are your age and still can run a long time ok I can do a half a marathon in a bit mins and you know it is people that like you and others on here that keep me aw ank and alive so keep it up and have done 15 bungie jumps and run a 10 k road race in 30 seconds when they was trying to kethup with me (sorry mean 40 mins)
kp nuts glad to hear you can do a marathon, good luck to you. I do empathise though with back problems, I know that it is one of those problems that people play upon to get sympathy etc but if you have this problem and it it is a real problem then it is very stressful' I actually walk around doubled up in pain and it is no joke believe me.
