My uncle died tragically in an accident last year and we're hoping to put a headstone at his grave soon. He had no wife/children but was well loved by family and friends alike. He was an avid Star Trek fan and we're wanting to incorporate this into the inscription on his headstone; something like 'Reached the final frontier' but I know we can do better, so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions?
First, please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. Second, your comments about your uncle prove how much he was loved and appreciated - and how much he'll be missed.
As for your question...In one of the epic movies (sorry, don't remember which), as someone's remains (Captain Kirk's?) were being despatched into space, a bagpiper played, "Going Home." Perhaps you might look up the lyrics and reference them on the headstone?
Thanks for your suggestions, guys. They've made me smile, thinking about my uncle and what his reaction to them would be. I'm gonna take them back to the family and see what they think.
