I'm probably in the minority when I say I'm not on Facebook...the argument if i get an account I can keep in touch with people I've lost touch with etc and could be a bit of fun BUT I'm not entirely sure its all it seems...whats the general consensus peeps?
I've got an account, it's like a "poor man/womans" myspace, a few of my freinds on my myspace accounts also have facebook. It's a good way to network and keep in touch
it's highly incestuous at times when you find out that two entirely separate friends actually know each other (like a bloke that went to my school in london knows my cousin in manchester), but on the whole, its all good...and great for stalking peeps!!
Can't stand it. Don't like them. No thank you. Cyber mixure of a round robin and a chain letter. Horrible, horrible sites. In my opinion obviously. shudders
That said, no doubt useful for keeping in touch with relatives and freinds abroad.
did anyone see that slide show that ws on here not so long ago? about the CiA using it etc? not that I have anything to hide in teh slightest but isn't it just a modern day George Orwell?...
Was it facebook that someone recently posted a link where there was some serious compromise of confidentiality by the US government or was it just scaremongering or maybe a completely different site altogether?
I have a my space but not a facebook though some of my family have it to keep in touch with relatives and friends abroad , though also chat on msn of-course.
In the wrong section maybe , but while we are on the subject btw, my dog has her own facebook . :-)
I considered it, but not sure about it either. I have such a different life now to years ago and I know that there are people who I wouldn't want to talk to. Think you'll end up sizing each other up and trying to be the 'most successful'!
Also.... why would you want to be in touch with people you lost touch with? You can't have been that paly if you managed to lose touch with them in the the first place.
So that doesn't wash with me.
Meeting new people - Yep. That's fine. I'm in touch with a few off here. Managed to do it quite easily without having any myspace or facebook.
And is it just me that thinks with the popularity of these websites, the notion of 'privacy' is going out the window.
And while I'm ranting.... It's actually like an X factor or a 15 minutes of fame thing... everyone wants to be noticed it seems to me. Why?!
