Funeral donations instead of flowers
4 Answers
If the family request donations instead of flowers to be sent to the funeral director, do the family get to know who has donated or if a card was sent to the funeral directors would it reach the family? I lost touch with an uncle years ago and have just read that he had died and would just like to send a card and donation but don't have any address. Does anyone have experience of this please?

Normally, the Family are only told of the amount collected after the funeral. They then give instructions as to what charity or the like they wish to donate to. Or, they donate to the charity themselves.
Hope this helps.
You could always send it to the family direct with a card.

The funeral directors will usually give a list to the next of kin, stating who has given a donation. It is up to the next of kin as to whether the funeral directors send the total donations off to the chosen charity or whether the next of kin do. Cards should be forwarded to the family by the funeral direstors. I'm sure that if you send a card/donation to the funeral directors, they will forward it to the immediate family, with details of who sent it.
