flat feet

Is it true that you cant join the army if you have flat feet?
Both my son and stepson have flat feet and both want a career in the military but I dont know if the flat feet thing still applies or if it was a myth to begin with.
Also my stepson has food allergies, would this prevent him from a career in the army?
