I need your opinions -

What are your thought towards a wedding on New years Eve? Obviously the reception going into the new year and celebrating the 2 together

Good idea or bad idea?

I think that is a lovely idea. Your wife/husband will never have the excuse for forgetting your anniversary.

Will be hubby prob a couple of years away yet but I love the idea he likes it but I just wondered on the general consensus
My sister has always wanted to get married on christmas day!! My brother and his wife got married on bonfire night in a hotel on the promenade in llandudno!! It was lovely cos when the fireworks went off on the beach we all stood out on the balcony watching the display!! It was a day to remember!!
Personally, I think it is a bad idea. The day should be about the newly weds, and the newly weds only. The celebrations of a New Year will detract from the actual purpose of the day.

I went to a wedding not so long ago and the best man and his wife had just passed the "safe" three month pregnancy period. They kept quiet becuase I know realise they didn't want to take any limelight away from the bride and groom. New Years eve may have the same effect.

Also people may be all fested out due to Christmas and/or have made other plans than a wedding
Bad idea - what if your guests would like to spend New Year's Eve with their own family or go away over the whole of the holidays? It should be a time for everyone to celebrate equally and not just to be there for you and your husband. Just my opinon though.. x

hmmmm tis true, tis true and point taken shadowman and Emma alike...ah man!
I think its a bad idea too, alot of people do like to see the new year in with their families and I do think it will take away from the 'special day' rather than add to it.
I think it's a great idea, and if it's what you want you should go for it, after all, it's your wedding day!
Lots of Luck!!
