Sorry to ask such a daft trivial question, but does anyone know which way up a horseshoe should go over the door? Someone said they should be upside down. Bought one today and dont want to tempt fate by putting it up the wrong way !!!!!!!!!!!! any ideas. Thanks

a better start would be to put it on a horses foot not the door :-)
As far as I remember if you put it upside down then the luck is supposed to run out of it so put it up. (and thank god for a normal question).
Keep it with the hollow up. shaped like a U.
Upside down is supposed to be very unlucky. I have friends who own a riding stables and all the horseshoes are kept open end up or else !!
I was told that if you hang it like a 'U' witches can build a nest in it !!

You can see them in the evenings, apparently, flitting from trees to hedgerows gathering twigs and straw to build their nests !! A witches nest !! Pah !

but if its the other way up ther witches make a water slide out of it :-)
I always thought it was hung like a U too (ohh that rhymed) However to save confusion and possible bad luck forever, may I suggest covering your bases and hanging like a C?
but what is glenbars flat B
You know what? Put it sideways. Upside down is supposed to make your luck run out, and putting it the other way lets a witch sit in it. Sideways is the way to go!
but not the C way
I;ve really got to go home, I;m in a weird mood and really should start speaking to real people, see you all later peeps
What was the question again
