If the parents are not fans would they object to a Christening present made up of an Elvis, Bowie and Beach Boys set of three baby T'shirts.

They are rather cute, but fear they may never be worn.

Any thoughts?

Yes ive got thoughts- they'd be minging, is this a serious question? Really???

Why on earth would they put their children in 'em if they aren't even fans of them anyway? I'd seriously question their sanity though even if they were fans and made their poor offspring sport them.

Well it beats buying some crappy silver "something", and baby clothes are usually crap. And as for toys, he will have dozens already.

But I thank you for your comments Booster Girl---noted.
Why dont you buy them something useful then? Like Premium Bonds?

And incidently, their parents might actually like those "crappy silver things"...afterall, it's THEIR tastes here not yours.
if they are not fans then they wont be worn. My brother is still threatening to buy babycrx a West Ham kit!

if you dont want to buy toys or silver stuff then how about a casting kit or a cheque for babys Child Trust fund?
ive never heard of such a stupid christening present.i hope to god you arent a godparent to the poor little mite.what will you buy it for its first birthday?a motorbike?

The parents are minted, so cash bonds etc will be fruitless.

It's a good job I haven't bought the T'shirts yet!!!
lol maybe i'm nuts but i think its a good present!
hiya stoke!!!!!! how r u?
Yeah tis, coz that idea truly blows....sorry Wardy, lol.
hey kyra how are you?
*whispers* I thought they sounded quite cool actually...
Babies in those t shirts? surely youre joking ? they sound awful... sorry
I would've loved them for either of mine. You don't have to be a fan of the artists to appreciate their iconic status. It's a bit like people having photo canvases of Jimi Hendrix, Oasis or James Dean - it's the association, no membership to the fan club required! Or even Mini Boden having baby T-shirts with prints of VW campers on, or Warhol's Campbell's soup tins.

Football shirts, however, ARE ghastly, and are in a whole different league. (Pardon the pun!)
stoke: good, got my tatoo last week! so cool
(sry to interrrupt ure thread shadow man)

stoke: lol just did "what would u do" on b& s
My dad bought little Pippa a t shirt with a photo of Che Guevara on it.

I am not a particular fan of the guy..but I thought the t shirt was cool!
