Some banks and mail order places are terrible for it as well. I had cause to use one recently, and although the operator was pleasant, I could scarcely understand a word she said! I had to keep repeating myself to her, and then ask her to do the same. At the end of the call, she wished me a happy New Year!!!

lol, i know what you mean!
No wonder Direct Line make it a central plank of their TV ads. that their Call Centres are in the UK.

I work for BT - all our computer support is in India, and I have dealt with them for Broadband, and I do understand.

Yes their English is good, but their eninciation, bad connections, and their lack of understanding makes a two-way conversation a nightmare.

Money saved by companies - but at what cost to their public profile, and customer service?
Do you mean them calling you?

If you do, try here- it does cut alot of them down, and those that do get through put the phone down sharpish when you tell them you're in the TPS.

I also (before joining that) used to pass the phone to Mini Boo who jabbered away to them for ages- they put the phone down sharpish then too :-(

no i meant having to call them.
Im feel the same gina, i had a problem with my broadband and i had to phone them for help, what would have taken 10 mins to sort out ended up taking 45mins because i couldn't undrestand a word he was saying!
I have trouble with companies who use call centres that are not in the UK. It really cracks me up when I call one in India and am told in a very broad asian accent that I am talking to Brenda!...yeah right!
i phoned up bt to change my name to my married name on the bill. i was on hold for over half an hour (as there was no address to write to) and when i finally got through, he asked if i would like to make a complaint as i was very mad, and i said no. so another guy phones me up the next day following up my complaint! they're bloody useless, its just cheap labour. hsbc are one for it as well.
nice idea boo
I did that b4 i heard the agent give my toddler a message he was 20mnths at the time
They asked if they could speak 2 me he babbled so they said can u ask them 2 call us then continued 2 give him a telephone number.
