Whiplash and Pin & Needles...

Serious answers only, please... :o)

I had a car accident on Wednesday afternoon and was taken to hospital. I was told that I have severe whiplash (again!) and to try and rest. I also went to my GP yesterday as recommended by the hospital doctor.

Anyway, whilst I was examined by these doctors I was asked if I had experienced any Pins & Needles in my fingers or toes, and I hadn't. However, I am now and I just wondered if anyone knew much about what that might mean.

I would call NHS Direct, but they're only taking urgent calls at the moment as they're so busy and I wouldn't want to stop someone getting through.

Thanks in advance, ABers! x

Aww, bobs, thanks! I'm okay, it's just a bit of a weird feeling, LOL! I'm just replying to your email. ;o) x

Thanks, tilly. The last time I had it, I had nerve damage in my legs where it felt like there was water being poured down them, but my mum thinks maybe this is something to do with circulation? :oS

Hope you're okay, too, angel! I might try them again later tonight, if they've quietened down a bit. x
oh nasty - hope you feel betta soon whiskey - WL is painful so don't feel bad about ringing NHS as your helath is as important as other peoples :-)

Sorry CB, I know you said serious answers only but can I call you Miss Whiplash now? Please?
I correctly diagnosed a friend's daughter the other day so I reckon I'd make a good doctor - i'm guessing it's what the others have said, something to do with trapped nerves. Is it constant or does it come and go? (do I sound like I know what I'm on about?)

Thanks for the link, weeal. I might have to give them a ring, then; my arms do feel heavy. :o( Bum. :o) x

Thanks, again, tilly. I think I will. x

angel, strange, isn't it? Better that you're okay, surely. Glad you are. Well, the boot is pretty much in the back seat and it's pretty old so my dad's told me to expect it to be written off. The third party's insurers have sorted me out with a courtesy car already, though, so I can't complain (I just can't drive it yet, LOL!) :o)

LMAO! I can make an acception for you, hun! Miss Whiplash? LOL! Do I really get a choice? ;o)

Well, you're sounding like a better doctor than the one I saw in Luton hospital, bobs! :o) x x x

Don't forget if the accident wasn't your fault to put your injury's on your insurance claim form especially if you have lost time off work and you will be able to claim compensation.

Thanks. I've just gotten off the phone to NHS Direct and been told a nurse will call me back within the hour. x

Hi, wendilla! I was wondering about that, actually. I've just found a solicitor for my last accident (tsk!), but when speaking to the third party's insurance this morning I was told that they'll deal with my personal injury claim for this accident. Are they not going to get their insured the best deal they can, though? All of it really confuses my little brain :oS x
Hi Whiskeysheri, please give NHS direct a ring. Worth it to put your mind at rest. They asked for a reason so its best you get it checked out. :-)

LOL, hun! It was still great advice, though. Thank you ;o) x x x
Just. read your thread love and I am so sorry to hear this , you poor soul , whiplash is really debilitating I would think .
I do hope by now the nurse has rung you back and told you what to do , hopefully see a doctor again. Please keep us informed sweetie as I am thinking of you . (( hugs )) xxx
Not quite sure what you mean when you say the other partys insurer will deal with your personal injuries claim. As far as I understand through a claim my daugher made through no fault of hers her insurance company did all the dealing for her compensation for whiplash and loss of earnings for that day.In no way did she milk the insurance company it was her insurance company that made her claim. If you are not too sure put your question up in the new Insurance section .She got 1500 . Hope you soon feel better and get your claim sorted out soon.
Just a quick note whiskeysheri hope your starting to feel better! Most people dont realise you can minimise the damage of whiplash by having your headrest in the right position. there is a link that will give you some info and also symptoms of whiplash. get well soon

also.. the third party Personal Injury team will do its best to keep the cost down for there own insurance company you would be wise to go to an independant solicitor. D
