I put question up on Monday asking where to get man made non leather shoes as a friend is allergic to leather.I told him your replies and there is still a problem as he is allergic to glue too.So any more ideas from anyone would the glue affect him .He already has to wear all cotton materials.At the moment he is wearing crops shoes but they are open and have holes around them and not very suitable in wet weather.Thanks for any replies

I think he needs to look at his socks - there must be some on the market that provide a barrier between his skin and the shoe.
Have a look at top end 'hiking' socks - these are waterproof so must have some sort of barrier properties. Perhaps with a silk undersock.
It is going to be trial and error I'm afraid.
