I put question up on Monday asking where to get man made non leather shoes as a friend is allergic to leather.I told him your replies and there is still a problem as he is allergic to glue too.So any more ideas from anyone would the glue affect him .He already has to wear all cotton materials.At the moment he is wearing crops shoes but they are open and have holes around them and not very suitable in wet weather.Thanks for any replies

Getting shoes that have no glue is going to be near impossible.

I think he needs to look at his socks - there must be some on the market that provide a barrier between his skin and the shoe.

Have a look at top end 'hiking' socks - these are waterproof so must have some sort of barrier properties. Perhaps with a silk undersock.

It is going to be trial and error I'm afraid.

Those crocs are leather.

Thanks for replies yes Ethel it is a nightmare I think. He got the crocs at footwear shop in Wigston Magna in Leicestershire and they are non leather and moulded so no glue but have holes round them but can't get proper shoes. Thanks all

Sorry, Wendilla - I know the crocs you mean. They are made from recycled materials so very green.

The link to croc shoes that Donna has posted shows alll terrain croc shoes but they are made of leather.

If your friend can wear crocs, they do a range called Endeavour which are holeless, although they still have the slip on back so still might not be suitable for the wet weather

Clogs would seem to be the answer, hand carved by redundant miners from Wigan, I think Debenhams stock them.
