Random places to visit in the uk for a weekend.. not too expensive!?
me, my boyfriend and our two friends have decided to go on random weekend long outings a few times a year. does anyone know of any good places to go??
the last place we went was to france, we stayed in a cheap hotel, family room, and got drunk then came back, it was brilliant!!
we'll be interested in camping (when the weather gets better), cheap hotels or lodges.. cheapo cruises ( I seem to remember my friends getting one for 30 per person for 4 days or something....)
thanks :)
we're based in the south if that helps??
and can all drive, and all have passports

Why go anywhere, you can just stay at home and do that :-)
Being based in the South you have the whole of the South of England to visit, and there is LOADS to do in the south of England.
Why not do a different holiday "town" each weekend: Bournemouth, Brighton, Torquay, Newquay, Portsmouth etc.
Or you could join the National Trust and visit loads of country houses and gardens. Once you are a NT member you get in any NT property for free.

You could consider staying a Youth Hostals. They are not as bad as they sound and in the last few years they have improved the standards a lot, and they are inexpensive.

Why not visit your local Tourist Information centre, most towns have them, it may be in your local library. They will have loads of brochures about England that will give you some ideas.

And if you are thinking of camping join the "camping and caravanning club".
They have loads of sites all of a good quality, and can give you advice on where to stay.
