i am 5 weeks pregnant..is any form of bleeding normal?

I have just found out im 5 weeks pregnant, it wasnt planned but im ok. i woke up today to find a brownish discharge when i went to the toilet...theres not alot of it though. should i be worried??

Its is quite common to get an implantation bleed early on in the pregnancy. Brown blood also means that its old blood so usually nothing to be concerned about although it can still signal a loss.

Any bright red blood loss or clots or any severe pain in the abdomen should be investigated and you should contact your GP who would then, hopefully, refer you to the early pregnancy unit for scans.

Definitely need to rest. Brown blood can be a sign of threatened miscarriage. Wasn't going to post that originally, but I hope it will encourage you to contact your GP practice for proper advice.
