What's the best kind of massage oil to use on somebody with a trapped nerve? Are there any that are particularly good at relaxing the muscles, easing pain etc?

It's amazing that you should ask this question, because yesterday I had a really bad pain in my hip so went to the drug store to see what they could offer over the counter. The pharmacist suggested 'Neuragen' made by a company called Origin Biomed. I was sceptical because it's a liquid, and I wanted pills. Anyway, I bought it, took it home, and applied a couple of drops on my hip: 15 minutes later the pain was gone!! It's not cheap at $30 (around 15 pounds) for a small bottle, but well worth it...I think.

Cheers Stewey, is it an oil and can you massage folk with it?
Yes, it is an oil. But you only need two or three drops on the pain area: not really enough for a massage per se.

Think I might get some and mix it with some lavender oil.... Cheers mate!
I think that if you diluted it it might lose some of its potency. Just use it 'straight' and massage later with the other oil.
Question Author
Do you know where I can get some?
Well, Skreech, I just went to the Origin Biomed site, and it appears as if this product is only available in Canada, the US, and Japan. Check with you local chemist and see if they have something similar.......Cheers.

Managed to get some stuff from Lush but cheers for the advice! Did all my shopping from a combination of Ebay, Amazon and Lush! Only 10 minutes of trawling the high street! That's how xmas shopping should be done!
Sweet almond oil is one of the most popular massage oils among massage therapists. Extracted from almonds, sweet almond oil is pale yellow. The oil is slightly oily, which allows hands to glide easily over skin. Sweet almond oil absorbs fairly quickly, but not so quickly that you need to keep reapplying it.
