i was just reading yesterdays post that had a lot of replies about people on here that possibly pretend to be something or someone they're not.

personally i don't get why people make up stuff (if in fact they do)....whats the point of it?

Exactly - what is the point?!

I've never wanted or attempted to be anything, or anyone other than the 'real' me - apart from my username of course.

Both our daughters & a couple of friends frequent AB & say that when they read my posts, I'm exactly how I am in 'real' life. Friendly, honest, sincere, caring & well, just me.

Am not sure mini but the mind boggles.

Some of them just lead sheltered little lives I suppose and get there kicks by doing that on here as they do not fit into society

Most of these people with aliases have difficulties with socialising so resort to the alias charade to get some much needed attention.

I would imagine they have difficulties in maintaining friendships in real life too.

maybe there life is too boring so they make stuff up to make it sound more exciting???

It's all too easy to do now there is no need to talk to people face to face. there is now txting, internet ,telephone etc. new technology has taken away people skills.
