yes i would, just finding how to tell her will be hard but if my mate new and my daughter came home pregnant and could have been avoided,i would be livid, still if ur good mates u should say something for the sake of the girl.
how do you know? Did the girl tell you? if so, did she ask you not to tell her mum. if not, how do you know it's true
Hi sally, how do you know? Who told you?
Is she having safe sex? Is she fully aware of what that entails, and how to say "no" if she wants?

I don't know about telling your best friend, I can imagine it being quite a dilemma.
I don't see the problem at all. If it's your best friend, you can surely say - "I was told by.....that your daughter's having sex. Do you think that's true?"
i know quite a few things about my best friends daughter that her mum doesnt know, i see it like this, if the daughter gets in trouble, needs someone then you should tell them that you are always there for them like i have done. if i felt that i had to tell my best friend something i would just put the thought there in their head then if mum wants to question it then the daughter can decided whether to own up or not.

Sorry I have only just replied - fell asleep early!!

I know through my daughter of 18 seeing stuff on her my space. I was left in no doubt that it was true.

I suppose if it was me, I would want my friend to tell me. We are very close and she would know that I was only telling her in a kind and caring way. Am seeing her this morning for a dog walk so maybe I should tell her then.
hmm, im still not sure seeing it on myspace means its true!

I would say that it is not your place to tell your best friend. Apart from anything else, it is unfair on the child. If you feel so strongly about it, It would be fairer to talk to the girl first.
not sure what you read on my space is true, but you could tell mum you were concerned about her myspace
That's the best idea yet pj1331. Much better way of approaching the situation.

I spoke to my friend and she was glad I told her.

Its not the age thing, its just her being safe and checking she wasnt forced into anything.

They have talked it out which is good.

Thank you all for you advice.
