Funnygirl, according to Moonshadow response in the link Mamma posted it seems there's hope for improvement and possibly a cure for it - ( "They put him on medication and he slowly came back to good health".)
I posted a link to a site for those concerned. It says "Using the array of therapies that are now available, more than 90 percent of patients return to near-normal function."

That is a relief ethel, At least seeing a specialist will give you a good chance of finding out if it is myasthenia gravis and putting your mind at rest.

If you have occular MG Ethel the antibody tests in a high proportion of people come back negative, so I'm told. I am so pleased they are sending you to a MG specialist, it must put your mind at rest a little. You never cease to amaze me when you find the answers to such difficult questions, answerbank needs you so hears hoping you will soon be on the road to recovery.Good Luck, keep steadfast and please keep us posted.
