UK spends most on cosmetic surgery

A new survey has found that within Europe, the UK spends the most on cosmetic surgery. We spent around �500 million on enhancing ourselves cosmetically in 2006, although this figure is nothing in comparison to what those in the US spend - �5.7 billion. What do you think? Why have we all become so obsessed with our appearances that we feel the need to spend �1000s on going under the knife?

Perhaps this is because the UK has the highest obesity levels in the galaxy and we all need liposuction, or because we are all so in debt we need a surgical makeover to make ourselves more cheerful, maybe we need it to mend our broken bones after all the drunken binge-drinking fights we get into every weekend, or maybe we all just have small willies and breasts compared to our European counterparts, maybe we are all just darn uglier than the french, the spanish and the germans��.

Perhaps we spend more because cosmetic surgery in the UK costs more.
