To evoke the famous verse I am going to Murrayfield to watch England crush the "rebellious" Scotts in a couple of weeks, will I be safe on the streets of Edinburgh wearing my England sh1rt? Can I be sure of the famous Scotts hospitality?

You will be ABSOLUTELY FINE hun, the Scots are GREAT, I went to Aberdeen University. Granted you may get teased a little but its only fun banter! I wish I had never moved back to England at times.
Have a great great great time.
Katie. Lancashire.
P.S. You will be horrified to note that I won two tickets, transport and accommodation to the World Cup Rugby Final in france last year and sold them on Ebay for 400.00 because I didnt know how much they were worth. Ahh well, I made someone happy !

No worries Mrs T my wife & I have done it for years. We (English) get our tickets from a Scottish club so we sit amongst the Jocks.
Don't forget, when they have finished singing Flower of Scotland shout "CULLODEN"
PS I reckon I am the only one there who knows the middle verse of that song by the Corries.

MrsT, I'm a Scots girl and can assure you that you'll have a great time. Spaced is right, rugby is a different ball game to football in Scotland (s'cuse the pun). Yeah, there will be endless teasing but that's half the laugh. Some of my closest friends are English and we tease each other constantly - wouldn't change them for the world!
Have a great time!

No BOOZE is the rule. Your hand bag may be checked before you enter the ground. I have seen people removed from the ground & charged because they have had a hip flask, sad but true. That is the only down side to Murrayfield.
If you want to eat after the match, go to the Royal Mile Tavern on the high street. Push through the crowd to the little restaurant at the back.
If you want a drink before the match try the Struan Hotel near the Zoo. Comparatively quieter than the City pubs & only 15 minutes from the ground.
Enjoy!!
