Easter Bonnet Theme.
7 Answers
Hi Guys, I am really struggling to think of a theme for my little girls Easter Bonnet parade this year. As it will be her last Easter Bonnet Parade in this school I so so want it to be spectacular.
To give you an idea and may you use them yourselves if you so wish to do so I have themed the following in previous years.
1. Feng Shui - with a Chinese Suit on her and a chinese wicker hat then made into an Easter Chicks Nest.
2. Chocolate Heaven. I latticed chocolate over a cardboard hat, froze it solid, took it out of the freezer, placed easter chicks on it. The chocolate had a 20 minute lifespan before it melted on her head and so 3 minutes before the parade I placed fresh daffodils on it.
3. The World Cup Year 2 years ago - She wore an England Kit and I themed her Bonnet The World Cup where I iced a team of Chocolate Bunnies with Football Shirts and their numbers. I then got a huge chocolate bunny, placed him in the middle as Beckham (The Captain). Arranged the flowers on a white flower background with red flowers for The George Cross and all chocolate footballs hanging down like an Austrailian hat with the corks on if you will.
4. Eggstraterestrial. ET themed with eggs scattered over it and ET on the top.
Any ideas for the final year folks ?
I would be SO SO GRATEFUL.
Thanks SO VERY MUCH.

I used a strip of card to make a headband and large pieces of card to draw and cut out two hen shapes. I coloured in the wings, etc and used the stick on moving eyes. For the tail I used brightly coloured feathers from a craft shop. I stapled the bottom of the hens to the headband so they were facing the front. Then I stapled the heads together to fully hold them in place. I then stapled on small bundles of real straw for the nest. I finished it off by sticking around the band, egg shapes that my daughter had decorated.
The result was a hen laying brightly coloured easter eggs!

Psychick. That's FANTASTIC.
Unfortunately they have to be made from a grey cardboard hat that the school issue (they are donated by the local hospital if you get what I mean!) fortunatlley they are new ones and not re-cycled ! lol.
The Easter Bonnet Parade is TOMORROW ! I am going to have to stay up all night.
They get issued with the grey cardboard ones ONE DAY BEFORE ! To give EVERYONE a suitable chance ! Good job Asda is open all night !
Thanks again. You're fab.
