Drink lots of water because if not then you will end up bloated and that can make your tum / waist look bigger than it is.
I found that Body Pump (a cardio class with free weights) helped change my body shape dramatically, and yoga really trimmed my waist up. Swimming is a fantastic way to keep nice and trim too x

Absolute best programme for nipping your waist in is Bodydoctor which everyone from Sophie Dahl to Robbie Williams swear by - and me - ditched my gym routine for this and the effects were fantastic).

Even if you don't do the whole programme the stomach crunches do the business! They are a killer but they work. When I can't get to the gym I do the crunches at home and have pulled everything in and got a bit of definition.
The website above is great for 'testimonies' to spur you on but you can get the book cheaper on Amazon:

Waist size is the sum of the fat and the underlying body size. Toning up you abdominal muscles will shrink your waist, probably more than you realise.
Like any muscles they respond to loading and stretching.
I highly recommed doing yoga especially any of the leg lifts and a breathing exercise called Norli. It also improves the posture and helps to keep everything where it should be.
