Smoking Smells
9 Answers
Not quite sure where this would go but I'll stick it here. Is there anything that gets rid of the smell of fag smoke effectively? Any spray or something? My parents smoke and I don't, but as I'm round them a lot living in the same house I always smell like fags. They don't open the windows when they smoke ( when I open the windows they close them again) and when I've spoken to them about it they get offensive because they think I'm having a go at them and trying to stop them smoking.

I've also recently discovered the Febreze plug-in fresheners - you can get them in the supermarket. They have two separate scents that rotate on a regular basis and, while they don't completely mask the smell, they definitely help. Try plugging some in every room - even the smokers might be pleased with the fresh smell! Neutradol air freshener is also good.

I have an air wick freshener in my own room because I was sick of the smell and I've suggested them for downstairs but nothing ever seems to get done. I doubt that they'll just smoke in the kitcken. The "it's my house I'll do what I like" argument is bound to come up, but I think I'll try again with the plug ins. Thanks.
Yes the incense is good. Trouble is, if they're continually smoking, it will be in the carpets, furnishings, etc, so you will never get rid of it, only mask it, whatever you use. As long as you can keep your room smoke-free, that's something. They don't smoke in your room do they? Also, when you're a non-smoker in a house where people smoke, you still smell like a smoker: it gets on your clothes, in your hair, everything.
The warmer weather's coming now too, when windows and doors can be left open, so that will help a lot. Trouble is, next winter you'll be back to square one.
