Women drivers
Can anyone please explain
a) why most women drivers stop at a roundabout before looking whether they can proceed safely, and
b) why the majority of private vehicles seen without headlights when they are needed are driven by women?

The insurance companies are not likely to get that one wrong - they are in business to make money, not be politically correct and if they find women to be safer drivers, then women are safer drivers... doh... (ps the amount of money I pay for my motor cover is over a third less than what my best mate - male, same age, same circumstances etc etc - pays... )
10 responses and not one answer to the question asked. It was not a male chauvanist question, i happen to know that there are a lot of very good women drivers and an even higher number of bad male drivers, but it doesn't get away from the question which was based on a recent factual survey carried out over a 4 week period. Thanks for your responses anyway. JD
(a) It is probably because women generally tend to drive more carefully than men.
(b) It is probably because women have a better idea of when it is necessary to use headlights than men. Many male drivers seem to delight in driving in bright sunshine with headlamps on full beam, foglamps on (illegally), and any spotlamps they may have fitted also ablaze.
Of course when this ridiculous government caves in to the European Directive to have all new cars made in the Volvo mode (with headlamps on permanently) this particular question will be irrelevant!

As a woman driver who has been subject - three times in the last two years - to being on the receiving end of mens careless driving, new front end, new back and the piece de la resistance was 5k s worth of damage on the passenger side ... I find your remarks most amusing. When my car lacked headlights it was because a chap put his clumpy cloven hoof on the accelerator instead of the brakes in a parking lot ... don't you lot know anything about how stressful shopping for trainers in JJB already is- without uping the ante!
Ok JD, question for you....
Why do male drivers feel the need to speed up behind other cars in the fast lane (who are already doing at least 80mph) and sit impatiently behind at a dangerously close position until they can do 100mph up to the next car?
Im not saying ALL male drivers, but you rarely see a female do that.
