I'm sure I read somewhere that the average Human Lifspan is 70 years, so wouldn't that mean that 35 is middle aged? Shit! another 5 years and I'll be middle aged!!! Aaarrghhh!
no, Middleaged is always 10 years older than I am
It's a frame of mind. I know people who were middle-aged in their twenties
Mid life crises are usually in the 40s I think.

The noun "middle age" has 1 sense in WordNet.

1. middle age -- (the time of life between youth and old age (e.g., between 40 and 60 years of age))

I used to think of it as people n their 50s but my mum is nearly that age and she so isn't middle aged! i guess more 60s?
-- answer removed --
I always think of middle-aged as being 35 to 65... unfortunately... (I am 36) :-(

(but still young at heart)
I agree with the 40 - 60 range. However I have noticed a lot of people are having mid-life crises in their 30s these days!
The wee bit before you start enjoying yourself. Your only as old as you feel.

Thanks for all your replies, I am almost 50!!! Arghh, and I don't look upon myself as anywhere near middle aged. I must admit I do have trouble finding clothes. They are either too young and frilly or too frumpy, nothing in between. Anyway Keep young and happy
It`s when you don`t recognise the teenage reflection in the bathroom mirror.
