This really gets my blood boiling so what should be done about those people who abuse the parent and child parking spaces?

You need width to be able to unfold buggy or pram take it to side of car and get baby out without cars being able to hit the buggy which might happen if trying to do all this at back of car. I'm not even a parent And I understand that one. Think about multi-storey carparks nothing to do with being nearer any shops but you cant be stuck out in middle of a multi-storey car park trying to put baby in pram. Its all about safety not laziness, the people parking in them illegally are the only lazy ones.
of course parents need extra width, just as disabled do, the extra width allows babies to be comfortably carried into a car seat, to safely move a disabled person into a car.
the doors on a car with children are likely to be open wide as opposed to a person on their own who can shimmy into their cars.
People with children and disabled tend to carry more equipment with them.
why ban them when they serve such a useful service, maybe the able bodied or people without kids need to learn to walk a bit further without moaning
