broken hip

5 years ago my mum fell and broke her hip. she had a replacement hip. but was told she had osteoperosis. last week she fell again and broke the same hip. but when the surgeon operated on her the bone had completley crumbled and a replacement hip was'nt an option. so they have cemented it all together. what i would like to know is. will she ever be able to walk again and what quality of life she can expect. she is a very nervous 87. thanks for any replys

it would be much better to ask the surgeon who will have lots of experience in this way

thanks bedknobs. i know this is the best thing to do but trying to talk with the surgeon is nigh on impossible. i was just hoping that someone would know. i'm so impatient i want to know now.
