I am going to Pilates tomorrow morning for the first time, and am a little worried, i am not the fittest of people, and have only joined the gym fairly recently in an attempt to loose weight. A friend recommended Pilates, so have booked it, What is it and is a high activity class? am i likely to make myself look silly because i am so unfit?
Mooria i was looking into doing pilates,i dont think its high impact more stretching and stuff,it would be really great if you could report back and tell me what you thought thnks!
I done pilates for the first time a month ago and have been to 4 classes since. It's not high impact. As puddicat says, it's more stretches and we do leg raises as well. It's good for making you more flexible and it's easy to do some at home too as all you need is space to lie down! I would recommend it along with doing a class that is geared more to 'fat burning' like aerobics. With pilates, as with all exercise classes I find, you can go at a pace that suits you. Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for you answers will let you know puddicat, i have aqua aerobics booked after it - i like my aerobics in water, as no-one notices when you go wrong ;o)
