Saving on Food

Due to having a recent tongue operation and now having radio-therapy treatment for a further six weeks, I am having to be fed by a stomach tube (PEG) for a total of three months. This means that for that time I cannot have anything proper to eat nor drink and the feed I do get is of course supplied free on National Health (I am over 60).

So my quandary is, in view of the benefits I receive, should I inform the authorities that I am making a massive saving by not having to buy food in these time of extremely high inflation?

When my mother in law had her peg fitted, she used to have an occasional whisky injected into her as well as the normal water.

In my opinion, no you do not need to tell them, as the benefits you receive is what an average person needs to survive. Some people will choose to eat less and drink or smoke more, some people will not eat as much but will buy dvds.

The money you receive is not specifically for food use only.
