Does anyone know what the cause is of cracks in the corner of the mouth, as my daughter has a very poor diet and drinks a lot of alcohol, ive told her to change her life style but she wont, is the poor diet and the excessive alcohol the main problem of this. Thanks
It can be caused by a lack of Vitamin B2 and B6 and is also a sign of iron deficient anemia. Perhaps you could buy her a good multi vitamin, but there is no saying she will take them if she is not listening to you. Watch out for yellowing of her skin and whites of her eyes if she is drinking heavily. She is at high risk of cirrhosis of the liver.Perhaps you could go along to AA with her tamirra, it's so sad when these things happen, good luck.
Before embarking upon vitamin supplements, get your daughter to go to the GP. Could be a vitamin deficiency although B12 is incommon below the age of 40.
Sounds like too much alcohol, too much partying, ? too much smoking (just a guess) and poor diet. Blood tests are essential before lifestyle counselling.
