Changing your hair colour
11 Answers
Sorry i'm posting this on here but no one seems to look in beauty. At the moment I have blonde highlighted hair but I want to go brown again. If I purchased a hair dye would it be ok to dye my hair myself rather than paying through the nose at a hairdressers? Thanks!!!

I am highlighted blonde and I regularly stick a brown dye through my hair if I can't afford to get it re-done at a salon. I've never had green hair and I NEVER use reddy brown colours. My hair is quite porous and colour takes to it quite well. I find a medium brown works although it usually comes out dark brown for some reason. But never a hint of green!

I was just going to post similar foodluva.
I started having caramel/blonde highlights (foils) put in my hair last year, but after spending 50+ every 6 weeks, I got fed up with paying out & the time it took in the salon!
I now put a dark blonde on it, which comes out med/light brown. I've not had any problems with it going green & my hairdresser & family say it looks very natural, 'specially after a good cut.

Hi again daisycup - sorry, busy day!
I've started using Clairol Nice 'n Easy Root Touch Up - Darke Blonde No. 7. It's really easy to use. I haven't as yet used an all over colour as I still have some of the highlights in, but once they're all eventually grown & cut out, I'll start using an all over one of the same make.
Hope that helps.
