well just rang up docs to book my smear for this morning and heard receptionaist shouting 'can ....do smears now, you sure thats ok?, well just see how it goes' My god she's gonna butcher me

I hate them. Need to get one badly. Haven't had one for about 4 years and my Mum had cervical cancer.

ummm get one done now. I am just getting one done as I have found a tiny lump but I am sure it is just a cyst but thought well might as well kill 2 birds with one stone while I;m asking nurse about lump. No point getting my bits out twice for her

A very unprofessional receptionist from the sound of things - if she worked in my surgery here she'd get a dressing down.

Our nurses are very gentle & kind. A quick "Knees up Mother Brown", a squirt of KY, quick in, round & out - sorted. No need for pads at our place.

And Ummmmmm - book one now.

Yes smears are very important as we all know , but still no joy having your bits on display .

no worries joannie if its an important msg I dont mind. I can joke about it but hey its also a serious issue ummmmm you should really get it done. And redcrx yes I;m fine lump is just a cyst but better to be safe than sorry, and you really should go for yours too

smear tests are awful, on my last one the nurse checked my blood pressure whilst i was there and said oh its a bit high , i thought is it any bloody wonder !

ha ha. I've come to conclusion that if you're gonna have babies and show bits to the world and even wee a little (tee hee) then what harm can a smear do.
