i,m trying to find the title and author of a book.... it's a horror with a dark cover. it,s about an american scientist who is self medicating on a dna regenerating drug... his wife leaves him and meets another fella, so divorces husband. on the way out of divorse settlement angry scientist gets run over and mangled by a bus. that night his body disapears from the morge... yes his body has regenerated and now he's looking for his wifes blood. he chases ex wife and new boyfriend all over america killing anyone who gets in his way. each day his body keeps changing his now becoming a monster. this book is so scary, i,ve read it twice and want to read it again please help me find the title many thanx louise

Yes I would say Shadowfires by Dean Koontz as well. This is a book that I loved, then bought again to read a few years later, but then found it a bit slow in places.
Anyway, glad you got your answer!
