Colinic irrigation

I have recently been reading the book You Are What You Eat after the popular tv series. It has really made me think about all of the rubbish that goes into my body and I have decided to change my ways. As well as eating better foods, I am going to do a deox and am thinking about having a colonic. Has anyone had this done?? Did you think it helped?? Was it painful?? How much did it cost?? Also, is there anyone out there who follows a strict healthy diet, eating fruit, veg etc and not eating processed foods, tinned foods or frozen food. I would love to hear how your health is affected and how easy you find this
Many thanks

BUT!!
The thought of having a hosepipe up yer butt and water firced through it makes me cringe!!
Be very very cautious about where you get it done and make sure that any place who you contact for this gives you good references from satisfied customers that YOU can speak to!!
I started a detox in the Summer and have decided to keep doing it forever! I gave up wheat, dairy, alcohol, salt, sugar, caffeine and meat. I now follow this mostly, but do eat fish, an occasional wine if the opportunity comes up.
You get REALLY weird withdrawl symptoms for the fisrt few days, so do it when you are off work! I lay on my bed for 3 days, unable to move! I had bad bad headaches. Then I got better and felt really energised. Then I had bad skin and what was basically all my snot (sorry) coming out. I used up 20 hankies a week! But it wasn;t a cold- it was the toxins coming out.
Now I have FAR better skin, I can breathe through my nose (which I didn't used to be able to) and my asthma is tons better. I don't ever feel bloated, my joints don't ache, and I have lost 2 stone.
I TOTALLY recommend detoxing. I did the Carol Vorderman one- 28 days initially, but you won't want to go back afterwards!!
Read this article- this tells you how your body deals with a detox. It's amazing, and it's true!!

Hi Curious79, I have been doing a full detox including a serie of colonic treatments and I fill a million dollars. I went to the London Colon Sanctuary in Harley Street which I found to be the most competent, friendly and caring centre around. The prices are more expensive than most but they take care of you in the best way possible. Most importantly, they have got the latest system which makes the procedure totally private - I always did the insertion myself - and what surprised me most positively was the rectal tube: pencil-thin, went in about an inch and really not bigger than a pencil. Really different from any other system I had seen out there. This and the fact that my privacy was protected and respected at all times made my experience really enjoyable. They also put together a full detox programme for me and followed up with phone calls to make sure I was on track at all times. I go back there once a month for maintenance and I thouroughly recommend them. Cheers
