Finger problems

I am at the computer typing and clicking for at least 2 - 8 hours a day because i also do computers at college.So i do computers at college for 16 hours week. but recently my second finger on my right hand next to the thumb hurts whilst i click all the time on mouse, it hurts a lot and it looks like its going off at an angle my finger do, is it me or can yer finger fall off due to clicking so much on the mouse, do any of u experence this and how long u spend on computer , any replies would be helpful

It sounds like RSI. (Repetitive Strain Injury) which is very common in people using computers. It can affect your upper back, arms, wrists and hands in various ways. Have a word with your tutor about the way you are working with your mouse. There are various types of mice(?) and mouse mats you can use and your keyboard should be at exactly the right height and angle for you. It would be advisable also to see your doctor. You may need to rest your hand for a few weeks.

I haven't heard of any fingers falling off yet!

Make sure your posture is good when using PCs.

I use a mouse mat with really thick wrist rest which helps a lot.
