I have this thing under the left side of my tongue, it looks like a spot with a small whitehead. It seems to just lie dormant there and only feels sore if I eat anything acidic. I've just had some Cherries and it's flared up again.

I've also noticed I only chew on my left side too, is this normal to only eat on one side and does anyone know what this thing is under my tongue? Could it be an Ulcer and could a Dentist help. Mouth washes are only a temporary relief.

Sounds like an ulcer, but if you have had it for over three weeks then you should see your dentist.
Have you had ulcers before velvetee. They do look red with a white spot in the middle. Also am I right in thinking you are pregnant (forgive me if I have the wrong person!), because they often happen in pregnancy.

Thanks. I would say I've had it a while and at one point thought I must have mouth cancer, but as I've never smoked, it's probably less likely.

How long did it take for your tongue to recover, having a lump cut out Dot, was it really painful afterwards?
I get ALOT of mouth ulcers...normally caused by acidic food. I recommend Ambesol to stop the pain. Try to get the liquid one rather then the gel one. It stings like mad when you first put it on but then deadens the pain!!!
