I try not to drink much from dinner time onwards so as to minimise trips to the loo in the night. I do drink about 6 glasses of water during the day & 2 or 3 coffees in the morning. But l still get up in the night 3 to 4 times. Just a symptom of getting older?

are you a diabetic?
Yes, it can be just a symptom of getting older, but you could have an irritable or 'overactive' bladder.

It can become a habit!!

No, I'm not diabetic Jack. I learned the hard way that if I get dehydrated, I get very bad headaches & have had the odd migraine too. Hence the drinking of lots of water throughout the day.

Brilliant Lofty!!! A million thanks.
Don't take my word for it though. I would hate to think you overlooked a real problem. However, it's very common. I go through stages of it!!
might just be a prostate probelm and maybe worth asking your GP about
For some reason I had assumed that MWB was a lady. I am wrong?
Or even "Am I wrong"!

Yip. I'm a woman. And I don't have a prostate to prove it!

And Lofty, I won't take just your word for it. But I will try it & if no joy, I'll see my GP.
Phew, I was right!!

Good luck MWB.

Thanks Lofty. :)
If you still feel dehydrated when drinking loads it may be your body isn't using the fluid effectively.

You could try an EPA supplement. An osteopath recommended it to me to keep my joints hydrated esp when I mentioned I felt dehydrated even though i drink loads.

It might help.
I had the same problem and my doctor told me to drink Cranberry Juice. I get the Ocean Spray, plain Cranberry. You might find it a bit unusual to start with but it is quite sweet and not too strong, two or three times a day should be fine. Apparently it clears out any urinary tract infection and does seem to help. Natural too !

I've drunk cranberry juice before, it's very nice - but boy is it expensive!!! But I'll start drinking it again, as well as trying a supplement.

Thanks everyone. :)
