I made a big mistake - I married the object of my desire... I mean affair.

I should have just left him as a dim distant but rather fond memory. Instead I committed myself to him for life, thereby putting myself in the position of witnessing & bearing the brunt of his mid-life crisis (still hasn't come out of it - 8 years later....)
Fortunately, it wasn't for life after all... though he could have got life if he'd actually killed me. Which he nearly did. Do I sound bitter? Do I sound as though I have had a recent skirmish with him?

I think this is down to personal interpretation, how a person defines affairs and/or cheating. Personally I agree with sqad, but a one night stand is still cheating, an affair is when it is ongoing. Again, just my opinion.

when in fact , your relationship / marraige is what meant nothing .
