bad spots

my daughter has been suffering with bad teenage spots lately drinks plenty of water fruit veg ect, but does anyone recomend a hight street or home remedy that works at beating them /

My son is 19 and has the same problem - though has turned more to acne now. He has tried various lotions and potions - some clear them up, but they come back again.

Freedom Gel - Avon Clear Skin Blemish Cream - these have been the most successful ones he has used. At the moment I have him trying Decleor Prolagene Gel (this is more for scrarring etc).

The only time they truly clear up is when he goes on holiday abroad or skiing.

Has she been to the GP - my son did and they wanted to put him on a course of antibiotics, for around 6 months or longer - I did'nt think this was a good idea, so he did'nt go down that route.

There is a new TV programme on BBC2 at 8.30 on Mondays called grow your own drugs hosted by James Wong. Last week he made a cream for spots and skin problems, it worked well on 3 or 4 young people and the recipes are on the BBC website...worth a look, good luck

Similar to DEN53, my son had spots turning to acne(especially the back), he too has a pretty healthy diet. Had to visit doc's when a particular HUGE spot prevented a confident individual from going to school. I was against antibiotics & he was put on a course of creams which didn't work. He's now on antibiotics & the result is incredible. We tried all ex-foliating stuff, witch hazel etc before resorting to mediccal help. He also stopped drinking gallons of milk a day which has also helped.
