i have had dull pain when sitting now for almost three months. it started only when i sat on hard chairs but now it,s any chair!! just recently i feel it when standing/walking too. i spoke to my doctor today who said it,s proberly nothing, try to aviod hard seats & take paracetomol???

woow what a coinsidence...my name is meg too, and i have a chipped Cocxix which gives me alot of pain!!

i fell down some huge concrete steps as a youngen and have to sit on my foot to ease the pain, as writting now i am sat on a foot at my work desk! maybe Meg's were just destined to have a sore bum bone!

Sounds like coccydynia.

You dr's advice is correct.

If it persists you may need a cortisone injection into the coccyx.
