Terrible cough

I have been feeling poorly for about a week.
Just achey really and very tired.
I have now developed a cough that today nearly made me sick in public!
I also lost my voice the other day.
Any ideas on what to do/or it maybe?

Sounds like a chest infection.
Go t the GP asap.

About a week? That's not long really.

Just give up and rest, big time.

Your body will eventually win the battle with this virus, but you have got to be patient.

Ive been like this for two weeks and is awful and get shivers that go through my whole body and yes have been sick too with the cough, cant go anywhere. Wake up some days and feel better then it deteriorates as day goes on, no real interest in anything.

Woody I have had this awful coughy thing myself. about three times since christmas. The cough is terrible and it isnt until I urge or am sick that it stops. I was told it is going around and if a virus there is no use going to doctors. Try taking Robuttusin cough syrup. tell the person at chemist what cough it is. That was the only one I found that did any good. But it takes a long time to go. And like I said it keeps coming back. Then goes as quick as it come. hope you feel better soon. xx

sounds like exactly what i have, i'm just putting it down to a virus and taking and all in one cough cold lemsip thingy. not that its helping much i've been through 4 days worth in 2!

does your chest hurt like hell when you cough as mine does and its really p!ssing me off now!

Hi all, thanks for you answers!

Panic -Rest is impossible as I have 2 kids that dont realise that Mommy is poorly!
mamyalynne - Last night was awful, I was hot then cold etc etc etc! I was crying at 1 am this morning much to the amazement of my fiance! I never cry! I convinced myself at that point I had phenmonia lol lol! :O)
Mcfluff - My chest is killing, I have strained it from coughing too much!
I went to the doctors, he told me to try Vicks Sinex, apparently, it will dry up my mucas (nice!) and that will stop the cough..... Fingers crossed! Oh and I bought Buttercup cough syrup and that seems to be helping too.......
