Your analogy of mankind being like ants is, Im afraid, not a useful one: ants are able to see you, they are aware that you exist when you are near them at least, and you inhabit the same universe even the same planet as them. And then you say that we are completely unaware of the eternal watcher then how can you believe in something that you are unaware of? But then you say he stops us in our tracks and makes us see that means that he chooses who will see him and who will not. So my other usual question comes in here: How can I get faith if God does not grant me the gift of faith how did you get yours?
sorry about that merlin i pressed the mouse by mistake
is there such thing as heat? to this im sure you say yes is there such thing as cold? again you,d say yes we can hit 458 degree below zero which is no heat but we cant go any further after that .
there is no such thing as cold otherwise we would be able to go colder then 458degree .cold is only a word we describe the absence of heat we can not measure cold
heat we can measure becouse heat is energy and cold is not therefore cold is not the opposite of heat just the absence of it. say you are working on the premises of duality that for exzample there is life and there is death a good god and a bad gad. you are viewing the concept of god as something finite something we can measure
science cant even explain a thought it uses electricty and magnetism but has never seen much less fully understood them to view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death can not exist as a substantive thing death is not the opposite of life merely the absence of it . immorality is the merely the absence of morality isnt evil the absent of good darkness is not something it is the absent of somthing
i would have thought that the absence of god moral code in this world is probably one of the most observable phenomena going.

I agree with most of what you say about opposites actually being a presence or an absence.
You acquired your faith in much the same way that, I suspect, most people got their faith. Your parents introduce you to the faith then your clergy reinforce it and you acquire faith at an impressionable age before you have sufficient intellect to question it properly. You then have your belief and thereafter seek evidence to support it.
You are muslim because you were born into a muslim family that taught you the muslim faith. Most Christians are Christians because they were born into a Christian family that brought them up in the Christian faith.
Do you suppose that if you were born to a Mormon family in the USA that you would have been muslim?
merlin
i know where you,re coming from merlin i can understand the fact that we all are individual and that we all have been taught diffrently i was grown into a muslim family, but if i never accepted these challenge in my heart, then i am not yet a muslim i am familiar with the ideas of islam but i have to trust them myself no body can do it for me so , i have arrived at the age of 'reason' i begin to question things, and begin to search through the darkness for something that makes sence of the universe and its suroundings and the history and it all makes sence christian believes god too the only out of intense misdirected piety and devotion, have misunderstood the true compassion of the one god and have elevated their prophet, jesus, may peace be up on him to the status of godhead.
you ask me if i was born in a mormon family then my answer to that would be easy when god created humans he did something diffrent- he made us out of humble material, but he also gave us free will. that means i am capable of choice and discernment;
what really count is whats in the heart i grew up in a christian town and was even taught some hyms but that has not changed the real me i still believe that our god is the true god that the prophets were all true that the revelations were all true . and you and i are and the rest of mankind are just here for a test and to see wheather we pass this test or fail
The faithful of every religion think that every other religion has got it wrong to a greater of lesser degree - there are differences between the different brands of Christianity, there are extremists, fundamentalists and liberals in every faith and no-one seems able to describe their own personal God in sensible terms.
What is a fella to think? How can I know that that Islam is right and Christianity is wrong, for instance - and how can you or anyone else know it?
Sorrry - that's another question. But only a rhetorical one. What I mean is that you cannot, except by faith. And then we come back round to "how do you get faith?".
the true muslims believes that faith is not complete when it is followed blindly or accepted unquestioningly unless the believer is reasonably satisfied. if faith is to inspire action, and if faith and action are lead to salvations, then faith must be founded on unshakable convictions without any deception or compulsion. in other words, the person who calls himself a muslim becouse of his family tradition, or accept islam under coercion or blind imition is not a complete muslim in the sight of god a muslim must build his faith on well -grounded convictions beyond any reasonable doubt and above uncertainty. if he is not certain about his faith, he is invited by god to search in the open book of nature, to use his reasoning powers, and to reflect on the teaching of the quran. he must search for the indisputable truth until he finds it, and he will certainly find it, if he is capable and serious enough.
believing islam as a right religion is something you have to consider seriously on you;re own it must be founded on strong faith and constant practice. christian believes in god too and the revelations but the only thing is that they believe jesus may peace be up on him as gods son,as we muslim believe he was gods prophet sent to guide mankind god has no son. he is supreme the almighty and powerful i suggest the only way for you to search the truth is to study with some muslim people who can relate to youre understanding .
odwn you cannot be forced into thing
another thing you ask is how do i know my religion islam is the truth the fact that a true muslim does not lie it shows the full believe in the oneness of god and devotes its life to him becouse he is the creator we committ to god in the very depth of our hearts and souls and to know that when you are in love with someone you go to any length to please the beloved.
thats how you would feel youre love towards god if you are a true believer

I generally find - and I accept that this does not apply to everyone - that someone who has faith in God first gets that faith and then finds the evidence and rational arguments to support that faith. Someone who does not accept the existence of God (yet) first looks at the evidence and the rational arguments and follows them to wherever they lead.
There are others, of course, who have acquired their faith through a spiritual experience or revelation.
You will continue in your faith and I shall continue looking at the evidence and arguments but I expect that (except for a revelation, perhaps) the best that we can hope for is tolerance and understanding of each other.
