I got my results and my blood tests are all fine. I was told I don't have to go back to the doctors. However, the other day the whites in my eyes were a yellowish colour but I have been drinking lots of water and this has gone. The blue tinged lips and nails seems to have gone away now too but I'm still getting palpitations and easily out of breath. I don't know whether to make another appointment to be told nothing is wrong with me or to just leave it and see if the palpitations and breathlessness improve. Advice would be appreciated...thanks

Ooh I have been having strange palpitations and shortness of breath as well!
I saw the doctor this morning and she said the most likely cause, for me, is anxiety (which wouldn't be suprising given the last few months).
Even though I normally have low blood pressure, I've noticed that it, along with my pulse, shoots up when I do anything, not much, even just pottering about slowly, sys over 140 and pulse over 100.
She has taken bloods (blood count, iron and thyroid) to check them though I've had them all before and bar a low iron levels (though not anaemic) so not expecting anything to show up.
She said I could try a 24 hour tape monitor to track my heart level but I said I'd see how it went and how the bloods come back etc...
Chances are it could be anxiety related though.

CAJ1 - I know you had a full blood count but did they do a liver function test ? when you said the whites of your eyes turned yellow - there is a condition called 'Gilberts Syndrome' - though generally shortness of breath and palpitations are not normally linked to this, but its worth a blood test. Also did they do a thyroid blood test ?

I find it really scary when I get the palpitations. I was running round the garden chasing the dog last night and that hurt my lungs and I found it hard to breathe within a minute or two. Its ridiculous, I can't do anything! Let me know how you get on too xx

I've no idea what they took the bloods for other than anaemia, they took three lots but I don't know what the other 2 were for. How is your friends daughter getting on? x

It would be worth finding out what blood tests they actually did - as thyroid and liver function do not come under full blood count FBC on blood test form. I know how frightening palpitations can be - I suffered with over active thyroid for years, and palpitations are a classic sympton.
Thanks for asking about my friends step daughter - as far as I know she is starting her radiotherapy sometime this month - my friend has been away in France where she runs ski holidays, so she is home soon and I will find out more.
