Help, How do I convert? Im dieting due to having a reading of 7.2. That was almost 2 weeks ago and in the meantime I bought a Cholestrack tester but it shows "TC mg/dl" and I don't understand it. My test today showed 207 TC mg/dl. I dont expect it to have dropped loads but I want to know what level I am as i-e 7.1. TIA

you simply cannot reliably convert a test done by a lab and a test at home kit.
You will just have to take it from now, and track your progress via your home checker
I agree with bednobs, there is a conversion equation but it is , in my opinion, complicated. The US and Europe uses two separate systems of measurement. I would guess that your kit is US made. Stick to one system.

Remember it is not the total cholesterol that is important it is the level of HDL (good cholesterol) which is the important fraction.

Your total cholesterol may be high, but it may be due to a high HDL which is a good thing.

HDL....High Density Lipoprotein (good cholesterol)
LDL....Low Density Lipoprotein (bad cholesterol)
Your reading means

Total Cholestorol = 207 milligrams per decilitre.

Your doctor took the readings as mmol/l - millimoles per litre.

To convert divide by 39. That gives your reading as 5.3.
