My daughter ( un be knowns to me) was pokeing her ear with a cotton bud last night .. An this morning she's been scared because it's made her ear bleed only a little .. I told her she probably poked too hard an sent her off to school.. Did I do right or should I take her to the docs? :)

My opinion....you did the correct thing........cotton buds are large in comparison to the diameter of the ear canal.

Ear drum is almost certainly intact

Just keep an eye non her over the next 3days.
cotton buds should not exist, never stick them in your ear they break the membrane covering the ear canal and can cause infections. wax is there for a reason. I;d say she'll be fine. x

Thanks 4 putting my mind at ease :) .. I agree cotton buds can b dangerous I didn't even no we had any .. I will keep my eye on her thanks again x
As sqad said, I would keep an eye on her for a few days. I use to use cotton buds, I poked a bit hard and woke up the next day feeling a bit funny, went to the docs after a few days and found out I had severe ear infection, more than likely caused by the cotton buds. Obviously you mess with your ears, you mess with your balance.

So just be careful!
Best to use hopi ear candles you can buy them for 10 or go to the beauty salon and get them to do it for 20 they are worth every penny.
I agree with DONNA, Hopi candles are the best. Its's suprising the amount of wax and gunk comes out.
