Why h why do the so called funny shows on have t have canned laughter ..on this show on the television at the mment if a character say anything that could be constrewed as slightly funny we get about 2 secnds of laughter with all the laughterers (no such word but anyway)start at the same time and end at the same time .Wonder what they were watching bet it certainly not this show .Yes Im gonna switch it off.I think Ill go out and get the dog for a walk .Hes called stay so I just say come here stay confuses him but at least there no silly laughter .
When my daughter watches 'Friends', I join in with the laughter. She gets really annoyed! Still can't see what the Mercans find to laugh at though. The other laughter I cannot stand is that by the studio floor workers on progs like Mathew Wright. Much easier to turn the TV off and get a life
Funny friends was mentioned. I used to love that until one day Ross did that dumb look "Huh" thing he does, and the laughter track that followed was so out of place it made me realise what rubbish this programme really was.
When MASH was shown back in the 70's/80's on BBC2 it was really funny and we didn't need to be prompted when to laugh. but now its shown on Paramount there's canned laughter. In an TV interview once with Alan Alda he said he'd wished that the show could have aired in America without the canned laughter but the TV people wouldn't agree. The whole show - though a little dated now - is totally ruined and seems very silly as well.
