Going in for Orthognathic surgery (lower jaw broken and moved forward) in the morning. Am absolutely terrified! Any words of comfort? Have never had surgery and am beyond scared.

good luck for tommorrow and ignore any negative posts you get xxx
I wish you well for tomorrow, jem-bob - like big mamma says, just think of the finished results. You will be fine.

*** Zacsmaster - lets hope you never need any reassurance - your post is so uncalled for.
Enjoy the pre-med.......it's a very pleasant feeling. Just remember it's just another day for the team...they have done it before. Let us know how you get on when you feel up to it.
You'll be under before you know it jem. The pre med will relax you. Good luck.
jem bob---sincere good luck tomorrow, hope all goes well for you.
Try and I know it is hard not to allow yourself to get worked up, your surgeons will have done loads of ops like this and Iam sure they will re assure you as you go along.x
it'll all be over before you know it.

I'm having an op on my eye in a few weeks, under local anaesthetic. be grateful you'll be asleep!
jem-bob its only natural to be anxious they will put you atease and all will be well, think positively and lots of love

Hi all,

Many thanks for your lovely words of support. Everything went fine, although I wasn't given a pre-med and did get myself in a bit of a state. But they let my sister come into the anaesthetic room with me, so I held her hand as I went off to sleep. Everything is okay now, although my face is incredibly swollen and my teeth are wired shut. But the results underneath should be great.

Thanks again.
